Eleanor Simms 
Eleanor was born in 1776 in Charles County, Maryland. Eleanor's father was Francis Semmes and her mother was Mary Burtles. Her paternal grandparents were Francis Semmes and Lucretia Chapman; her maternal grandparents were William Burtles and Sarah. She had two brothers and a sister, named James Burtles, Bennett and Elizabeth. She was the second oldest of the four children.-
