Margaret E. was born in April 1863 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Margaret E.'s father was Nathan Roller Shipley and her mother was Mary Ann Fansler. Her paternal grandparents were Enoch Shipley and Lucy Ann Roller; her maternal grandparents were David Fansler and Mary Shipley. She had two brothers and two sisters, named George W., Enoch, Lucy Jane and Mary Ellen. She was the third oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 70 on April 18th, 1933.-
