Elizabeth was born in 1812 in , Of Hawkins, Tennessee. Elizabeth's father was Christian Shanks and her mother was Margaret Pearson. She had six brothers named Michael, William, George, Christian, Henry and John. She died at the age of 58 in 1870 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.
