George Scism 
George was born about 1853 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. George's father was Jesse D. Scism and his mother was Nancy Skelton. His paternal grandparents were William Scism and Elizabeth Duncan. He had six brothers and five sisters, named William, James, John, Jesse, Samuel, Franklin, Ann, Elizabeth, Lucretia, Mary and Martha. He was the second youngest of the twelve children.
