George Nathan was born on April 20th, 1788 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. George Nathan's father was John Isaac Saunders and his mother was Eleanor Or Nellie Dodson. His maternal grandparents were Raleigh Dodson and Elizabeth Or Mary. He had three brothers and a sister, named James, Henry, Willie and Tabitha. He died at the age of 85 in 1873 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.-
