Fruelo I's father was Alfonso I Of Leon The Catholic and his mother was Hermensinde Of Leon. His paternal grandfather was Pedro Of Cantabria Duke; his maternal grandparents were Pelayo Of Leon 1st King Of Leon and Gaudiosa. He had a half-brother named Mauregato. He died in 0768.
