James Murrell 
James was born in 1875 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. James' father was James Orville Murrell and his mother was Amanda Lawson. His paternal grandparents were Pleasant Murrell and Susan Trent; his maternal grandparents were Banks Lawson and Thersey Parvin. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Palestine, Dalzell Harrison, Pleasant, Marilla and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the six children.-
