John Mayo 
John was born in 1834 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. John's father was Richard P. Mayo and his mother was Elizabeth. His paternal grandparents were Reuben Mayo and Jane. He had four brothers and four sisters, named George, William, James, Wilie W., Nancy Ann, Mary, Sarah and Texana. He was the second oldest of the nine children.
