Abraham Shepard was born in 1757 in , Edgecombe, NC. Abraham Shepard's father was John Lane and his mother was Mary Shepard. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Lane and Patience McKinnie; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Shepard and Ann. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, Benjamin, John, Ann, Mary and Patience. He died at the age of 61 in 1818.-
