Mary Catherine was born about 1830 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. Mary Catherine's father was Willie Blount Kyle and her mother was Catherine Creed. Her paternal grandparents were William John Kyle and Rebecca Young; her maternal grandparents were John Creed and Rebecca Smith. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Talbot, Felix, Claiborne, Matilda and Eliza. She was the third youngest of the six children. She died in 1910 in , , Texas.-
