Philip's father was John Kite and his mother was Christina. His paternal grandparents were John Wendel Kite and Hannah Medlicott. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Adam, Michael, Daniel, Kite, Mary, Christina, Elizabeth and Susannah.-
