George was born about 1740 in , Of, Virginia. George's father was John Wendel Kite and his mother was Hannah Medlicott. His paternal grandparents were James Kite and Mary Warner. He had three brothers named William, John and Philip.General Notes

A George Kite left a will (1826) in Boone Co., Kentucky. Oddly enoug h, he had
sons William, George and John. In turn, like the George of Hawkins , Tennessee,
he was associated with the Hord family. The only stumbling-block bei ng a wife
called Polly. The George of Augusta Co., Virginia, son of John Wendl e Kite,
had a spouse named Mary (Polly). The earliest George of Hawkins, acc ording to
the tombstone inscription of his son George, was married to Susan Bar rett. It
appears a great coincidence for two George's to have the same relatio ns.
Especially since many of the Tennessee Kites migrated to Illinois vi a Kentucky.
