Eudora was born in 1831 in Virginia. Eudora's father was Noah Kite and her mother was Isabella Perkey Kite. Her paternal grandparents were George Kite and Elizabeth Long; her maternal grandparents were Jacob C. Kite and Catherine Slagel. She had eleven brothers and six sisters, named Edgar, Erasmus, George, Oliver, Henry, Benjamin M., John, Harvey, Lewis Wolford, Allen W., Ashby, Eleanora, Caroline, Belzonia, Victoria, Eleanora and Amanda V.. She was the fourth oldest of the eighteen children.-
