Edward was born about 1894 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois. Edward's father was Michael Joseph Keefe and his mother was Mary Or Minnie Shaughnessy. His paternal grandparents were Thomas O' Keefe and Elizabeth Kavanaugh; his maternal grandparents were John Shaughnessy and Mary Wengle. He had two brothers and a sister, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named William, Robert Leo, Anastasia Or Stacey and Infant. He was the oldest of the five children. He died in Chicago, Cook, Illinois.-
