Catherine Matilda was born about 1821 in Sullivan County, Tennessee. Catherine Matilda's father was Peter S. Hunt and her mother was Nancy George. Her maternal grandparents were James Jordan George and Elizabeth Pemberton. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Pemberton, Thomas, George Luther, Adam Miller, Peter Alfred, Lucinda Elizabeth, Barbara Malinda, Sarah C. and Frances. She was the third oldest of the ten children. She died before 1900.-
