Benjamin Hughes

Benjamin was born in 1828 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.  Benjamin's father was Abner Hughes and his mother was Sarah Iddings.  His maternal grandparents were Joseph Iddings and Alice Howell. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, Joseph, Jeremiah, Maria, Louisa, Elizabeth and Lucinda.  He was the second youngest of the eight children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Samuel, John, James, Abner, Sarah, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Mary.
