Edward Holmes 
Edward was born about 1717 in Edgecombe County, N. C.. Edward's father was John Holmes and his mother was Tamar Bird. His paternal grandparents were John Edward Holmes and Elizabeth. He had three brothers and six sisters, named John, Hardy, Gabriel, Charity, Ann, Rose, Beatrice, Dorothy and Mary. He died in 1750 in , Bertie, NC.
