Joanna was born about 1474 in Of Wolfage, Lancs., England. Joanna's father was James Harrington and her mother was Isabella Radcliffe. Her paternal grandparents were William Harrington and Elizabeth Pilkington; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Radcliffe and Agnes Harrington. She had two brothers and eight sisters, named William, Clemence, Agnes, Elizabeth, Alice, Margaret, Alianore, Isabelle, Anne and Catherine. She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.-
