Jacob Droke was born on January 11th, 1840 in Sullivan County, Tennessee. Jacob Droke's father was John William Harr and his mother was Eleanor Phagan Droke. His paternal grandparents were John Simon Harr and Lydia Hicks; his maternal grandparents were Jacob Droke Jr. and Catherine Foust. He had eleven brothers and a sister, named Simon Joel Elkanah, William Droke, James Leonidas, Benjamin Martin, Henry Lafayette, Arthur Jackson, John Isaac, Francis Marion, George Washington, David Wolford, Thomas Jefferson and Lydia Catherine. He was the oldest of the thirteen children.-
