Benjamin was born in March 1794 in Franklin County, VA.  Benjamin's father was Martin Greer and his mother was Mary Wright.  His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Greer and Rachel Lowe; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Wright and Elizabeth Kemo. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Green Berry, James W., William, Elizabeth and Nancy.  He died at the age of 43 on December 9th, 1837 in Davidson County, TN.
