Julia Ann was born on December 13th, 1829 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Julia Ann's father was Aeneos Sharp Galbraith and her mother was Mary Caldwell. Her paternal grandparents were Arthur Galbraith and Mary Sharp; her maternal grandparents were Benoni Caldwell and Elizabeth. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, John W., Andrew Jackson, Elizabeth, Mary and Louisa. She was the youngest of the seven children.-
