Arthur Wright was born on September 18th, 1816 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Arthur Wright's father was John Galbraith and his mother was Martha Larkins. His paternal grandparents were Arthur Galbraith and Mary Sharp. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Andrew Larkins, John Sharp, Julia Ann, Priscilla, Matilda, Sarah, Charlotte, Melinda, Lavinia and Matilda. He was the second youngest of the eleven children.-
