Robert was born about 1310 in Elmley, Yorks., England. Robert's father was William Fitz William Lord Emley and his mother was Maud Deincourt. His paternal grandparents were William Fitz William and Agnes De Metham; his maternal grandparents were Edmund Deincourt Lord and Isabel De Mohun. He had four brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Thomas, Reynald, Margaret, Joan, Isabel, Agnes and Elizabeth. He was the third youngest of the ten children.-
