William's father was Henry Fitz Hugh 3rd Lord Fitz Hugh and his mother was Elizabeth Grey. His paternal grandparents were Henry Fitz Henry 2nd Lord Fitz Hugh and Joan Scrope; his maternal grandparents were Robert Grey and Lora St. Quintin. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Geoffrey, Henry, Herbert, John, Ralph, Richard, Robert, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Joan and Matilda. He died on October 22nd, 1452.-
