John Ewing 
John was born in 1869 in , Wayne, Illinois. John's father was George Ewing and his mother was Elmira J. Shehorn. His maternal grandparents were George Daniel Shehorn and Emily Harrison James. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Oscar, Martha E. and Hulda. He was the youngest of the five children.-
