Thomas Jones II was born in 1856 in Sullivan County, Tennessee. Thomas Jones II's father was Thomas Jones Cross and his mother was Martha Wright. His paternal grandparents were Elijah Cross and Catherine Cook; his maternal grandparents were Moses Henry Wright and Elizabeth Talley. He had a brother named Moses Henry. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 80 in 1936.-
