Andrew Fort was born on December 25th, 1826 in , , GA. Andrew Fort's father was Micajah Fort Champion and his mother was Elizabeth Martin. His paternal grandparents were William Champion and Mary Fort; his maternal grandparents were George Martin and Lavenia Geiger. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named William, George Martin, John Fort, Elias Fort, Marion Eley, Micajah James, David Fort, Daniel Huff, Martha F., Lavenia, Rebecca and Sarah Frances. He was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children.-
