Mary was born in 1678 in Surry Co., VA. Mary's father was John Cary and her mother was Jane Flood. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Cary and Susannah Limbry; her maternal grandparents were John Flood and Fortune Jordan. She had a brother named Thomas. She was the younger of the two children. She died at the age of 54 in 1732 in Surry Co., VA.-
