Mary Ann Byars 
Mary Ann was born in 1833 in Washington County, Virginia. Mary Ann's father was George Washington Byars and her mother was Ann Blessing. Her maternal grandparents were Jacob Blessing and Elizabeth Messersmith. She had four brothers and two sisters, named George Washington, James Allen, John, Thomas, Eliza Jane and Susan. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.-
