Elizabeth P. was born in 1764 in Halifax, NC. Elizabeth P.'s father was William Brantley and her mother was Elizabeth. Her paternal grandparents were Edward Brantley and Martha Pitman. She had five brothers named Samuel, Wilson Rawls, William, Robert R. and John. She was the second oldest of the six children.
