Absalom was born in 1878 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Absalom's father was William Bloomer and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Standberry. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Bloomer and Nancy; his maternal grandparents were Anderson Standberry and Delana Or Malinda Dodson. He had a brother and two sisters, named Isaac, Lillie and Sarah. He was the youngest of the four children.-
