Billings was born about 1437 in Northamptonshire, England. Billings' father was Thomas Billing and her mother was Catherine Giffard. Her paternal grandfather was John Billing; her maternal grandparents were Roger Giffard and Elizabeth Seyton. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Roger, William, Nicholas, Katherine, Isabel and Margaret. She was the youngest of the nine children.-
