Mary Ethel was born on April 3rd, 1899 in Sullivan County, Tennessee. Mary Ethel's father was James I. Barger and her mother was Lillie L. Hendrickson. Her paternal grandparents were Frederick William G. Barger and Adeline Leonard; her maternal grandparents were Joseph M. Hendrickson and Lorena Caldwell. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Samuel G., Lola E. and Anna. She died at the age of 72 on February 3rd, 1972.-
