Margaret's father was Nathan Bachman and her mother was Ann Peoples. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Bachman and Rachel Owens; her maternal grandparents were Nathan Peoples and Margaret Kelsay. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Jonathan, Samuel, Enoch Kelsey, George, John, Elizabeth, June and Mary.-
