Nancy Ellen was born on June 1st, 1832 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Nancy Ellen's father was George P. Arnold and her mother was Margaret Christian. Her paternal grandparents were John Arnold and Franky Jennings; her maternal grandparents were John Christian and Nancy Skelton. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William C., Andrew, Seth, Mary, Jane and Eliza. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 55 on October 6th, 1887.-
