Thomas Haynes was born on March 6th, 1839 in , Mcminn, Tennessee. Thomas Haynes' father was James Madison Armstrong and his mother was Celinda Baker. His paternal grandparents were Armstrong and Leah. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William M., Hugh L., James Madison, John E., Joseph Baker, Olivia, Sarah, Susan E., Annis and Mary Jane. He had two half-sisters named Louisiana and Lucy Ann. He died at the age of 82 in 1921 in Near, Elk City, Beckham, Oklahoma. He was buried in Red Hill Cemetary, Hammon, OK.-
