James Armstrong

James was born in 1829 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.  James' father was Samuel Armstrong and his mother was Margaret.  His paternal grandfather was Armstrong. He had a brother and two sisters, named Hannibal, Sarah and Ann.  He was the oldest of the four children.
