Thomas was born in 1786 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee.  Thomas' father was David Anderson and his mother was Elizabeth Hardy. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Anderson, David M., Elizabeth and Rachel.  He died at the age of 84 in 1870.
