Mary was born in 1775 in Sullivan County, Tennesse.  Mary's father was William Anderson and her mother was Jane Brian. She had six brothers and five sisters, named James, John, William, Andrew, Thomas Brian, Samuel, Sarah, Susannah, Margaret, Jane and Elizabeth.  She was the sixth youngest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 50 in 1825.
