John was born about 1705 in , , Virginia. John's father was Samuel Alsobrook and his mother was Joan Howell. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Alsobrook and Mary Ironmonger; his maternal grandparents were William Howell and Hannah Wyche. He had five brothers and a sister, named Howell, William Henry, Samuel, David, Hewet and Hannah. He died about 1781 in , Halifax, North Carolina. He was buried in I Have A Copy Of His Will..General Notes
Alsobrook first appears on the deeds of Edgecombe Co., North Carolin a in 1749
as John Alsobrook of Virginia.
John Alsobrook had a Close association with Drury Crocker. I am incl ined to
believe that Drury Alsobrook was named after Drury Crocker, who may h ave been
his uncle (brother to Elizabeth his mother).
