Martha Akard 
Martha was born in 1887 in Sullivan County, Tennesse. Martha's father was Abel Bartholomew Akard and her mother was Ida Hancher. Her paternal grandparents were John Akard and Emma Margaret Rodefer. She had four sisters named Emura Belle, Sara Matilda, Ida Florence and Laura Celestine. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 82 in 1969.-
