Her paternal grandparents were Peter SAY and Mary "Polly" STEEN ; her maternal grandparents were William DARLINGTON and Anne HOLLIDAY. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William , James E. , Thomas G. , Sis , Effie J. , Parthina Ann "Annie" and Nora S. . She was the second youngest of the eight children.-
