Russell was born in 1914 in Calhoun Co., WV . Russell 's father was Monroe Lyons KING and his mother was Drusilla Jane COGAR. His maternal grandparents were Thomas J. Campbell COGAR and Lucinda Pringle. He had four brothers named Boone, Willie Lee, Infant and Lovell . He was the youngest of the five children.-
