Ruth Doan 
Ruth was born on April 21st, 1775 in Cane Creek, Chatham Co., NC. Ruth's father was John DOAN and her mother was Elizabeth PIKE. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph DOAN and Mary Carter; her maternal grandparents were John PIKE and Abigail OVERMAN. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Ebenezer (twin), Ephraim (twin), Johnathan, Mary , Jesse ., Elizabeth (twin) and Martha (twin). She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She had seven half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Joseph, Jacob, Robert, Abigail , John , Henry and Hanna. She died at the age of 62 on May 13th, 1837 in Bartholomew Co., In .General Notes
