Joel Jr was born on November 12th, 1740 in Henrico Co., VA. Joel Jr's father was Joell CHANDLER and his mother was Priscilla Temple MIMMS . His paternal grandparents were Robert L CHANDLER and Elizabeth Crowshaw PALMER . He had five brothers and a sister, named Robert , Timothy , David , Jesse, John and Rebecca . He died at the age of 59 on November 11th, 1800 in Granville Co., NC.General Notes
The Chandler Family Association Newsletter, June 1994, Vol IV, #2 Joel was on the Goochland Tithe Lists of 1746/48. He was in the Lunenburg Tithe Lists of 1751/52 In 1759 in Lunenburg Co., VA (DB5, p 522) he appears with wife Jane as "Joel Chandler, son of Joel Chandler). In 1761/62 he appears on the Granvil le Co., N.C. Tax Lists and all surviving Granville Tax lists until 1799. Bible records of his family were found in a son-in-law's account book and have been published by Memory Lester in "Old Southern Bible Records". His first wife died leaving him with several small children. Her name is not known. It is not possible to seperate which children were by which wife.
His will was dated 24 Mar 1800 in Granville Co., NC.
