Minor H was born in 1818 in Jackson Co., IN . Minor H's father was Moses BLAND and his mother was Nancy BOAZ. His paternal grandparents were William BLAND and Rachel Julia WARD; his maternal grandparents were Thomas II BOAZ and Agnes RUTHERFORD. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William , Richard Anderson, Anna Maria, Lucinda and Lucretia. He was the youngest of the six children. He had a half-sister named Elizabeth . He died at the age of 61 in 1879 in Sullivan Co., IN.General Notes
Facts:
Minor served as a private in the Civil War, with Company I,97th Indiana
Regiment from 1861 to 1863. Minor lived for another sixteen years but suffered from diabetes and kidney disease.
Minor married Elizabeth Knotts (1822-1854 and had six children.
He then married Lucinda Morin (1828-1906) and had five more children.
One of his daughters, Mariah Bland, married four times, her fourth husband was 19 years younger than she, the records show she kept him
in a chicken coop!
