  (Research): The David Anderson family of Stafford Co., VA, had close ties with the family o f John West of Stafford, reputed son of Queen Cockacoeske, the possible mother or grandmother of Susannah Swann.
  
  There is no record that David served in the Revolutionary War in any capacity. However, he bought up soldier's land warrants and at the time of his death owned thousands of acres of warrant land in Kentucky and also Tennessee. Robert and John spend years locating and selling this land. Some idea of how much land he owned can be seen in the part of it Robert sold to his father-in-law, William Reed - "1450 acres, 1922 acres, 147 acres in District of Kentucky. " [Bedford CO Conveyance Book 8 page 334, recorded 1790] And again in a power of attorney granted his brother John "to convey land on Russel's (sic) Creek [KY], land on Tennessee River and 12,000 acres of "Wilderness Tract." [Bedford CO Conveyance Book 8 pages 503-504] There is much more like this in the Bedford Conveyance Books, amounting to thousands of acres.
