Samuel Hennis 
Samuel was born in 1824 in Ohio. Samuel's father was Samuel Hennis and his mother was Catherine Unknown. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin, Parks, Anna and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 86 in 1910.General Notes
According to the 1880 census, Samuel was a farmer, living in Short Creek, Harrison Co, Ohio. (Family History Library Film 1255031). The 1870 census lists a Samuel Hennes (same birthdate) living in Moorefield Twp, Harrison Co, Ohio. Samuel's parents were born in Pa. Samuel's birthdate from his two granddaughters, Sadie and Emma Hennis, given 12/30/2002, who said Morland was 19 when his father died. 1850 census lists him as being born in 1826. According to the 1910 census, Samuel was still alive and living with his son George and grandsons Oakley, Siebert, and Palmer in Short Creek.
