Mary was born on September 9th, 1560 in Shalford, Essex, England. Mary's father was William Allgar and her mother was Margaret Ann Parye. Her paternal grandparents were William Allgar and Mary Smith; her maternal grandfather was Thomas Perye. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, John, Bridget and Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the five children.-
