Isabel was born in 1040 in Montlhery, S-Oise, France.1   Isabel's father was Guy de Montlhery sn de Montlhery and her mother was Hodierne de Gometz la Ferte.  Her paternal grandfather was Thibault de Montlhery; her maternal grandfather was Guillaume de Gometz la Ferte sn de Bures. She had a brother named Guy II the Red.  She was the younger of the two children.
